Intro to Pottery 235.00

Monday Evenings 6 - 9 pm starting November 2nd

Who? Teens 16+ and adults. First-time beginners who want to learn how to create with clay, and returners who need a shorter commitment this session

This 5-week wheel throwing pottery class is for those who want to experience the wheel but can't commit to 8-weeks. You'll learn the wheel, focusing on wedging, centering, and opening. You'll create simple bowls and cylinders, and learn to trim and finish with glazing. The class is hands-on instruction, and practice, practice, practice!

INCLUDES:

- 5 weeks of instruction, demo, and practice, 3 hours each

- Up to 12.5 lbs. of clay. All wet work must be on the shelf at the end of week 4, giving you time to glaze your last week.

- Bisque and glaze firings

- Additional 3 hours of Open Studio weekly for independent practice. Docents are available for basic questions.

* Basic toolkit required (add to your cart if you don’t have one)

* Please bring your own apron to each class, and a gallon bucket with a lid. Each student is responsible to reclaim their own clay; we will teach you how. We are now offering aprons and tool tote bags. Buy now or order in the studio as well.

* This s a short session. We have some make-up options available, but try to attend all 5. If you know you cannot make a session, please talk to your instructor and make arrangements for another class.
